As in previous years, companies, foundations, funds and societies contributed to the Hollandsche Maatschappij Awards for Young Talent. On November 28, these were presented during a festive ceremony at the Hodshon House in Haarlem. As a VU biology student, Bastiaan Maarse received a Young Talent Encouragement Award for having obtained the best study results in his first year of study. The prize consists of a certificate and a sum of money as a reward for exceptional study results.

Biologietalent valt in de prijzen
Ook dit jaar hebben bedrijven, stichtingen, fondsen en genootschappen bijgedragen aan de Hollandsche Maatschappij Prijzen voor Jong Talent. Op 28 november werden deze uitgereikt tijdens een feestelijke ceremonie in het Hodshon Huis te Haarlem. Bastiaan Maarse mocht als VU biologiestudent met de beste studieresultaten in zijn eerste studiejaar een Jong Talent Aanmoedigingsprijs in ontvangst nemen. De prijs betreft een oorkonde en geldbedrag als bekroning van uitzonderlijke studieresultaten.
