Professor of Evolutionary Biology Toby Kiers wins the NWO Spinoza Prize

Professor of Evolutionary Biology Toby Kiers has been awarded the NWO Spinoza Prize for her groundbreaking research on the symbiotic partnerships between fungi and plants. She is the youngest scientist to ever receive this award. Kiers is studying the complex flows of nutrients within fungal networks, and investigating the role of fungi in regulating carbon in the soil. Kiers founded SPUN to map the biodiversity of mycorrhizal fungi across Earth and advocate for their protection.

Congratulations Toby!
